Rockstar Games releases ‘Official’ GTA 5 trailer
Rockstar Games has released what they’re calling the ‘Official Trailer’ for Grand Theft Auto 5. While we’ve already seen previous trailers, for some reason Rockstar is calling this one ‘Official.’ The shorter, 1:00 trailer is less intriguing that the first trailer released, but nevertheless shows some footage we haven’t seen yet. Watch the video in full-screen — it looks much better. GTA 5 (“GTA V”) hits stores and download servers on Sept. 11, 2013.

Nintendo dropping price of Wii U below $300
Nintendo has announced they will drop the price of the Wil U by $50 to $299, no doubt in an attempt to somehow compete with Sony and Microsoft as they get set to launch their next-generation PlayStation 3 and Xbox One consoles. The Wii U has been slow selling anyway, having shipped only 160,000 units in the most recent quarter. For those on a budget, the Wii U could be a good alternative to the $500 Xbox One. But for a hundred bucks more, who wouldn’t be more inclined to pick up a PlayStation 4 unit for $399?
It’s no secret Wii U doesn’t stack up to the high quality offered by Playstation and Xbox consoles, but for gamers who play titles like Rayman, Pokemon and Zelda, the higher end graphics and processing really isn’t necessary. Does anyone need to play Super Mario in high-def?
The Nintendo Will U will drop to $299 on September 2oth. Upcoming games for console include The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD in October and Super Mario 3D World this holiday season.

CNN picks five games to watch from Comic-Con San Diego
Were you able to attend this month’s Comic-Con? Or are you watching from afar? CNN’s John Gaudiosi has pointed out five video games to watch from the 2013 Comic-Con International in San Diego. It’s no surprise most of the titles are triple-A productions, given the immensity of the convention. “Batman: Arkham Origins,” “Dead Rising 3,” “Watch Dogs” and SEGA’s “Total War: Rome II” are among the five. But Gaudiosi also picked Young Horses’ “Octodad: Dadliest Catch” for PS4 and PC, an odd third-person puzzle game in which you control (with quite some difficulty) the titular Octodad. Obviously these five games just touch the tip of the iceberg, but no doubt titles worth playing when released. The games, publishers, and platform details are listed below. (more…)
